Contract Research

By Rolf Bjerke Larssen, Associate professor

The scientific institutions based at the Adamstuen campus provide contract research services across the entire field of aquamedicine.

Specified research projects in bacteriology, virology, parasitology, pharmacology, immunology, nutrition, genetics, epidemiolgy, fish health management and disease control, biostatistics, or clinical research are being carried out according to the customers' needs.

Through VESO VetResearch, which has been set up to commercialise the research of the veterinary academic institutions of Norway, those laboratories and scientists best qualified to carry out the work will be recruited and contracted. For each project, reporting, management and finances is being organised as specifically agreed with the customer.

VESO has its own CRO and facitilies for clinical research (both experimental and field trials) in aquatic species - VESO Vikan AkvaVet. The NSVS and the NVI’s divisions for veterinary epidemiology and biostatistics offers scientific support for all kinds of aquamedicine studies, from design to statistical analysis and reporting.
